My name is Mayda, a touring artist/musician from Minnesota. As a traveling musician, I am constantly on the go, seeing different things as well as trying to find the best deals for nourishments so I can ya know… rock out in the fullest and whatnot. Plus, I love trying to find weird new snack items and varieties of foods that come out in different areas of the world. I would not consider myself an expert or a “foodie” by any means. My palate is probably as sophisticated as a primary colors and I used to be extremely picky. However, I will try anything once and am willing to exercise my taste buds. I DO LOVE spice and heat, so bring on the peppers!
Anyway, my first review on this blog is not a new snack, The Snyders Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces. Now, I have never liked pretzels. When I was younger, my mom would NEVER get me chips because she thought they were unhealthy. The healthier choice were bland boring skinny dry pretzels. Ugh. I would hate it. When I Snyders started making these crazy bi-flavored pretzel pieces, I needed to check these out! Let this review begin.
When I popped open the tightly sealed bag, the smell definitely sang cheesy with that bacon waft. By looking at the pieces, each chunk was generously coated with a bright orange powder which was a major plus for me. If there is going to be cheese, I want to see it coated on every single one. I gotta have that flavor, ya know?
To the taste… Just by looking at the heavily orange coat, you would think there would be more of a cheddar flavor. There was actually a very salty bacon taste with cheddar taking more of a side kick roll which surprised me. It was a much for me to handle partly because I was looking forward to a cheddar driven bacon taste. However, it was still tasteful.
I appreciated the pretzels to be in pieces since they were hard. My sensitive teeth (from my junk/fast food ways) were pleased to crack into the smaller bits. The abundance of flavor did help the pieces break and even crumble inside my mouth making it easier to nosh on.
With that said, all that flavor made me want to try their other flavors such as mustard and onion, buffalo, and jalapeño to name a few.
The round up:
Would I buy it again? No, but I would eat it again.
Could I finish the bag? Not all at once, but probably in 5-6 days.
Overall rate (1-10): 7.5
Thanks for reading. More to come!
