I have to admit something. I am not a deserts/sweets person. At Thanksgiving, a lot of people like to save room for the pie. Nope, not me. Give me another helping of stuffing or potatoes or even rolls. I do like pastries and can handle ungodly amounts of certain candies. I can and will handle bags of red or purple jelly beans or twizzlers, go figure. (Easter is not a safe time of the year for me.)
Now, chocolate bars are something that I am particular about. It really depends on my mood. I usually can not handle lots of chocolate at once. It is just way to sweet for me.
Here are my top 5 American candy bars:
Hersheys Cookies and Cream
Most people would pick Recees which are good, but the peanut butter in these things has always been way too sweet for me. When I saw the Peanut Buttercrunch Recees bar I took a swing. I needed to see how this thing worked.
There are 2 flat rounded square cups with the jagged edges. I like my chocolate refrigerated, so I made sure it was cold. (I hate melted chocolate bars, I won’t touch em). Anyway, knowing that butterfingers is flaky from the layers, I guessed and hoped that these things would have some crunch. Yes, they did! Not a whole lot to squeeze into these flat bastards, but enough to make the bit interesting. To my pleasant surprise there was a small amount of salt from the peanuts which was really great for me. I actually prefer these over regular Recees cups!!
The round up:
Would I buy it again? If my top 5 choices were not available. Note: I would buy these over regular cups.
Could I finish the bar? Not all at once, but in 6-7 slow bites.
Overall rate (1-10): 5
Thanks for reading. More to come!
