I am definitely a daddy’s girl. Even though I am adopted, I would always say that I got certain traits and habits from my dad. It is true though. My brother WAS more like my mom growing up and I was and am still more like my dad.
More than my brother and mom, we…
are more social
are more shall we say, in tap with the universe (I suppose)
are into art, comedy, and hobbies
are more active/into physical fitness
are more outgoing
are more into travel and the world
are more open minded and tolerant of differences
AND more into culinary arts…
Speaking of “HIGH QUALITY CULINARY ARTS”, my dad and I were hanging out so we decided to get some Burger King. My dad is a baby boomer, dad’s kind of dad. He likes his beef. He likes his burgers. He likes his plaid shirts and khaki pants. He likes his mom- and pop-type comfort places. When we are going to grab a bite, we usually get some meats. SO, we head to BK.
At BK (which I rarely frequent), I usually get the original chicken sandwich no mayo. This time I saw a couple of interesting new items, BIG items. In front of my little asian eyes: 2 for $5 The Big King, Chicken Big King, Big Fish. Whaaa? For some reason, I impulsively took that deal and ran. I got The Big King and the Chicken Big King (no pickles) thinking my dad would eat one of them. Instead he got some bacon burger thing. Welps, 2 for me. SO how were they????
The Big King was a lot smaller than I thought, maybe even smaller than the Big Mac from McDonJuan’s. I was a little disappointed. However, the ingredients looked fresh. The burger smelled grilled as they usually do. The top and bottom buns were nice and fluffy, but the middle one was a bit squishy due to the burger juice. I didn’t mind that at all actually because the Big Mac’s middle bun gets in the friggin way!
At first bite, it was not bad, but nothing special. The sauce compared to the Big Mac was a little more pleasant and sweet. The onion kind of got lost amongst the bread which makes me sad. But I recovered and mowed that sucker. It was small.
Next up: the Chicken Big King!
This guy was taller and wider. The chicken breasts were bigger than the beef patties. They also gave off more of a peppery-grilled smell which was inticing. The first bite was really good! I was enjoying this thing. The vuluptous chicken was killing it with spice and I could taste the onions. Wow. Nice job BK! They definitely win for chicken sandwiches for me thus far. Their burgers are pretty decent too.
The Big King:
Would I buy it again? No
Would I finish it? I did, but only because I don’t like to waste.
Overall rate (1-10)? 4
Chicken Big King:
Would I buy it again? No, only because I can’t ditch my usual original chicken sandwich or chicken whopper NO MAYO!
Would I finish it? Yes
Overall rate (1-10)? 6
