Maybe some of you are thinking that this blogy thing is turning into a fast food review… Well, here is a snack for you sweet toothers. I found these because I was at Target and I was bored and that is what happens when you go to Target bored. Bad things happen. Poor decisions are made. On this occasion though, maybe not so bad and poor?
These little diddlies caught my eye randomly. They were lucky because I usually don’t even think twice about chips ahoy. I am not really a fan of packaged cookies even though I should be, being a snack reviewer and whatnot. Passing by the newer fancy flavors like dulce de leche and mocha, I see Birthday Frosting-Filled Chips Ahoy with RAINBOW CHIPS!! Honestly, what stopped me was the “Birthday” and the “Rainbow chips”. I like a party and I like colors. Bagged those bishes.
The cookies were a hell of a lot smaller then I thought. My hands are small, so if I think these guys are small, they be SMALL bishes!
The taste though was enough for me to really distinguish each element though. I do not like too much frosting on cakes, so this was perfect amount. The frosting was not too fluffy either; it was a little thicker like a regular vanilla filling which I prefer anyway. The rainbow chips were delightful and tiny in a good way. Unfortunately though, the cookie dough itself tasted a little old and crumbled a little too much. I like a chewy and moist (yeah I will say it) bite in a chocolate chip cookie dough.
All in all though, it was wonderful. I managed to policy off 5 hence my sugar sensitive palate.
The round up:
Would I buy this again: Probably not, but I would eat these over regular versions of Chip Ahoy as of now
I would recommend eating them AND buying them. I would even maybe request them if someone else were on a Chip Ahoy run.
Overall rate: 6 (on the junk cookies scale)
