What time is it? 1am. What day is it? Well, now it the next which is Tuesday. Where did I just come from? Doesn’t matter. I am driving and I am on Franklin and Cedar. What is on that intersection? TB. I don’t mean tuberculosis, however someone wondering around that area probably has it. I be talkin’ ‘bout La Taco Bella Cucina Ria. That’s right y’all. Taco Bell. I am using all of my muscles, all 1/2 of them to not stop. BAM! My brain gets a flat tire. AAA won’t help you. We better pull into the TB. I pull out my gift card. (Yes I have one, and don’t judge me, ok judge me)
Hey, to my surprise/weakness there is a new dollar menu. We are getting the Beefy frito burrito. Why? Mainly because there is beef and rice. I rike that combo too much. I don’t feel too bad since it is only a dollar. My brain did just have an accident. Do what I gotta do.
I actually drive home to get into this thing. I don’t like eating in my car. Many people feel the need to do dirty things like sneak TB and McD in their cars/vehicles. Not me, people see you. If you have ever seen me, you KNOW it is me. We need to go home to do the dirty.
Upon opening, it is warm which is good. It is a little smaller than I expected. It is not soggy or anything which I find sometimes the case is with TB’s soft shells. Inside there is supposed to be beef, frito lays, cheese, and rice. Sounds like a win.
I bite. Wow, very salty due to the seasoning and the fritos. Not bad, but a little TOO salty for me and I LOVE salt. I put soy sauce or tapatio on fucking everything. My doctor even told me I need to cut back. Oh well. The cheese was barely there (which is good for my lactose intolerance), but I wish there was more to tie everything together. The rice was nice, but didn’t taste like much. Cilantro or lime or something would have been nice. The fritos were unfortunately soggy. All they did was provide more salt taste which was not really needed with all that seasoning on the beef. I could taste the corn-ness from the fritos which helped being a slight different taste into the burrito. I guess I would have liked some sort of tomato or salsa to bring some watery fresh element. Does that make sense? With all that said, I liked it. It was only one dollar. It didn’t taste bad.
Have any of you guys had this burrito? What did you think?
The round up:
Did I eat the whole thing? Yes
Would I buy it again? Probably not
Would I eat it again? Yes
