What is the big whoop with almond butter? Somebody tell me please. Wait, I will just do it myself.
I LOVE peanut butter, crunchy, smooth, in candies, with honey!, in burgers, in Thai dishes… BUT it is PEANUT butter. When people do almond, cashew, walnut butters, I question. The varieties of butters seem to be all organic or fancy or special and expensive. Strike 2. So let’s just see if all the hype is worth it.
I opened it up and it smelled nutty, but not very strong. The consistency was pasty and more runny then regular peanut butter. The color was darker with dots in it. I am assuming the dots are the ground up skins of the almonds. IIIIIIIII dunno about this one already. I tried the spread on a spoon and it was more gluey buttery tasting then nutty. Almonds don’t have that strong of a taste to me, so there was either not enough salt or something. Strive four, which means I am nice enough not to throw this out of the game, but bench warm this guy. Sorry almond butter.
