Regarding junk food, there were lots of things that made me really different from the average “wittle guwl”. Up until maybe 8 yrs old, I did NOT like pizza, green things, pink things, cakes, desserts, pretzels, and…. BURGERS! Like what? I remember having my first burger from McDonalds and thinking I couldn’t even taste the burger. What was the point? Somebody help this little hyper girl!!
Fast forward 20 years or so and I finally am developing my deep appreciation for burgers.
To me, Smashburger is maybe like the Chipotle for burgers only not as cultish. There is not just burgers there, you can chose turkey burgers, chicken and black bean patties. Then you can chose what you want on each.
I chose for a turkey and a regular burger just cuz I CAN!
egg bun? both
Avocado? YES! (just on the burger)
GRILLED onions? YES!
crunchy water? YES.
tomatoes? of course.
Sauces? Let’s go Smash on both.
Cheeses? I have to watch it (lactose), but I go for smoked cheddar just on the turkey burger.
I am glad I got the grilled onions and the avocado. These items saved the burger because the patty was flavorless and dry. I wish that there was a cook to order. I like mine med rare-rare. Oh well. Boring patty and the bun was good but a little dense. I like squishy buns. (Tell your mom)
The Turkey burger:
Ok, I wish I could taste the patty again, but it was bland. I like some salt or something? The smash sauce blended ok with the cheese. This combo made the burger a little more dynamic and creamy. Otherwise, it was a little meh.
Would I buy again? Yes, if a group of people wanted to go, but I would not go by myself.
Would I recommend? No, but if forced to go and asked for my opinions… I would have them.
